Lenten Roses

They are the first to bloom, sometimes earlier than daffodils. Hellebores, they grow in my garden. Early and so hardy, they are a welcome vision that spring is on its’ way. They are also called Lenten Roses as they bloom during lent. If it snows they withstand. Many hellebore species are poisonous.
