Broad Reach*

I remember learning to ride a bike. Whew, and then learning with confidence how to ride with no hands.

A broad reach is the fastest point of sail. At this angle the wind is diagonally behind, pushing the boat and the angle of heal is minimal. Besides being the fastest it is by far the most comfortable position in relation to the direction of the wind. The boat when properly trimmed practically sails herself.
