When my kids were young we attended St. James Episcopal Church. On Christmas Eve our little Pennsylvania town would light luminaries up and down the street. It was so beautiful. This painting is of St. James Lutheran Church of Birdsboro. My husband suggested going to this area to paint. He is a rock climber and goes there often. He said there was a grave yard of old rusted tractors, trains and large farm equipment that perhaps I’d like to paint. Across the street was this beautiful church with high contrast of cool shadows and roof angles that I couldn’t resist. And there was a shady spot to work from. It was a beautiful September day.
