​​ Liquid in a glass, with light hitting it, is a fun challenge to paint. Here we have a glass of Rum with lemon. A sailors drink. In 1740 sailors in the Royal British Navy were given a mixture of one part rum to four parts water, flavored with lemon juice. The lemon would have provided much-needed vitamin C to stave off scurvy. It’s that time of year to gather with friends and family to toast the holiday season and the new year. What is it about amber colored liquid, that makes you check your watch? Is it happy hour yet?
